Get Your Students Practicing
and Make the Effort Count

Crescendo IQ helps directors build practice habits and recognize growth — so students keep showing up, putting in the work, and feeling seen for it.

  • Free trial — no card required
  • Works offline
  • Built for student privacy
The student's home: one tap to practice, progress they can feel.

How it works

A practice loop students actually come back to

Start a session, build a streak, get recognized. The same loop, every day — for the student and the director.

The practice loop

One tap to practice, progress they can feel

Students open to a single clear action: start practicing. A built-in timer logs the session, a daily streak rewards showing up, and a quiet identity strip shows the points and level they're building — so effort turns into momentum.
  • Timer logs each session, no stopwatch on the music stand
  • Streaks reward consistency, not just big days
  • Points and levels make steady work visible

The Game

Turn rehearsal into a live team competition

Put The Game on the projector and the room leans in. Sections compete as teams, scores update live as students earn points, and a lead change lights up the board. It's the same effort — with the energy of a scoreboard.
  • Built for the projector: big, legible, in your school colors
  • Live scores update as students put in the work
  • Off by default — turn it on only when you want it

Recognition, not shame

Make “I saw you” actually land

A director's shout-out shouldn't look like a system notification. Crescendo IQ surfaces recognition as a moment a student feels, and a quiet ticker celebrates wins across the group — so the focus stays on effort and growth, never a ranking to be ashamed of.
  • Personal recognition arrives as a celebrated moment
  • A group ticker shares wins without singling anyone out
  • The whole tone is encouragement, by design
Recognition that lands — and a quiet ticker of group wins.

The director's day

Your whole rehearsal, one screen away

The director's home opens on a “Today” cockpit: this period's rehearsal, a one-tap check-in code on the board, and the program at a glance. Press Ctrl+K from anywhere to jump to a student, group, or page in a second.
  • A “Today” cockpit built around the rehearsal in front of you
  • One-tap attendance code students enter to check in
  • Ctrl+K command palette to go anywhere fast

Everything in one place

The tools a program runs on

Attendance, practice, skills, rewards, and schedules — designed to fit a real teaching day, not to add to it.

Skill ladders & pass-offs

Lay out the skills for each instrument and year. Students see exactly what's next and earn each rung through a teacher pass-off.

Skill ladders: clear next steps, earned one pass-off at a time.

A rewards store you stock

Students spend the points they earn on rewards you choose — from a sticker to picking the warm-up — redeemed with one tap from your queue.

A store the director stocks — real rewards for real effort.

Schedules for families

Your rehearsals and events flow into a calendar families can subscribe to in Google, Apple, or Outlook. (Family-facing feeds are our newest area, rolling out now.)

A schedule families can subscribe to in their own calendar.

Check-in moments

Open a check-in code at the start of rehearsal to take attendance in seconds, set a focus for the day, and gather a quick exit-slip pulse on the way out.

Works offline

Crescendo IQ installs like an app and keeps working in a practice room with no signal. Sessions log locally and sync the moment a connection returns.

Set up in minutes

Create your program, share a join link or QR code, and students are in. Import a roster from CSV when you have a big group to onboard at once.

Built with student privacy in mind

Crescendo IQ holds data about minors, so we treat it that way. Programs are isolated from one another, the points-and-games layer stays dormant until a director turns it on, and we give admins data export, deletion, retention controls, and a published list of the services we use. We're designing toward COPPA, FERPA, and state student-privacy laws — see our privacy practices for the current, honest state.

Who it's for

Built for Music Educators

From a 200-student band program to a one-room studio, Crescendo IQ adapts to how you teach.

School Band Directors

Run attendance, practice, and recognition across every section and period — and put The Game on the projector to bring the whole room together.

Choir & Orchestra

The same practice loop and skill ladders work for voices and strings. Set up the skills that matter for your ensemble and let students climb them.

Private Instructors & Studios

Keep students practicing between lessons, track who's putting in the work, and celebrate the growth that keeps them coming back.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is student data protected?

Each program's data is isolated from every other program, access is role-based, and admins can export or permanently delete a student's data and set how long data is kept. We publish the list of services we use, and we're building toward COPPA, FERPA, and state student-privacy laws. Our privacy pages describe the current, honest state — including what's still in review.

Do students need phones out during rehearsal?

No. Attendance check-in is a short code you put on the board — students can enter it on any device, and you stay in control of when it's open. Practice logging happens at home or in the practice room, not on the podium. If your policy is phones-away in class, Crescendo IQ fits right in.

I don't want a points-and-games vibe. Can I turn it off?

Yes — and it's off by default. Points, levels, The Game, and the store stay completely dormant until you choose to turn them on, and you can enable just the parts you want, per group. Attendance and practice tracking work with or without any of it.

How long does it take to get started?

Minutes. Create your program, share a join link or QR code, and students are in. Have a roster already? Import it from a CSV. There's nothing to install on a server and no setup call required.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Crescendo IQ installs like an app on a phone or tablet and keeps working in a practice room with no signal. Practice sessions are saved on the device and sync automatically once a connection comes back.

What does it cost?

Every program starts on a free trial with full access — no credit card and no automatic charges. When you're ready to continue, you pick the plan size that fits your program. For a large program or a district rollout, reach out and we'll find the right fit.
